Contact Lenses

Where, Which Ones, and Why

Hey guys!

I get a lot of contact lens based questions so I figured I'd make an opinion based informational post about where to get them and which sites I use for what! Each company has many pros and cons and these are all based off of my personal experience. I am SURE people will have differing opinions and maybe even additional information to add to this, so take that into account when choosing who to order from. Basically, stick with who you hate the least and you'll be solid.

I'm including pictures of myself wearing the various lenses I have from each company so you can kind of get a feel for how they look.

*DISCLAIMER* I have darker eyes. Contacts will show up differently on lighter eyes. Because of my dark eyes, I've found what works on mine a little better than what would work on light eyes.

*ANOTHER DISCLAIMER* Above all else, your eyesight is important. Don't take contacts lightly. Please educate yourself on how to clean and care for your eyes/lenses before wearing them! It's always better if you have an optometrist keeping an eye on you. You're important! Love yourself and your eyes!

www.Uniqso.com

I generally use this site for all my circle lenses. A circle lens is different from a regular contact lens in that it has a slightly larger diameter. Just a matter of millimeters though, they aren't massive by any means. These lenses give your eyes a slightly larger look. Many people prefer these for Anime characters or other character with larger, doll-like eyes.

Uniqso offers some prescription options for lenses as well as a few astigmatism-friendly lenses too! They have a massive selection of really cool and unique looks and are definitely my top company. They have great customer service, fast shipping, and are all around a really solid crew!

I'm also an affiliate with this particular company! This means I have a discount code for 10% off that anyone can use! It tells the company that I'm helping advertise for them and I get a 10% commission on total purchases in return! No, I don't get free stuff from them, I just support and advertise them because I truly love their products, and in return sometimes I get a little cash! (Which I put towards more contacts 😂)

If you want more info on them too, they have a “Why Buy From Us” section that you can find here!

Below is my personal link to the website that Uniqso gave to me to track when I bring people to their site, and the code you can use to get 10% off your total order! (This just helps them see what I'm doing for them and allows me to continue my working relationship with them!)

This site is actually one that I had only recently found through a friend of mine! They are based in Malaysia and have some AMAZING coverage on dark eyes.

Since I have dark eyes, finding lenses that show up on them used to be a problem for me. With dark eyes, some lenses just show up...well, dark. Only upon close inspection do you really get to see the color of the lens. With Momoko though, I don't ever have that problem! They have lots of bright and unnatural colors (purples, pinks, golds etc.) that show up just gorgeously on dark eyes. This site in particular is where I got my lenses for my 2B cosplay from NieR: Automata!

The unique thing about Momoko is that they make most of their lenses in batches and send them out all at once. They generally don't have a ready stock of certain lenses, so shipping can seem slow. The quality of their lenses is really nice and they're very comfortable, and as long as you plan ahead and aren't buying your lenses last second, you should be solid!👌

TtdEye is a really cool company. All of their lenses are more natural in size and appearance. They have some INSANE coverage on dark eyes and read as that color even from a distance. They're super comfortable and really amazing. I currently have 2 pairs from them: A natural green and a natural blue. The effect is like nothing I've ever been able to achieve with any other brand of lens.

These lenses do run a bit higher in cost than the other sets I usually get, but I found it to be very worth it.

One important thing to note with these guys also is that they don't include some prescriptions. For instance, a friend of mine was looking to get a -5.25 on one eye, but the prescriptions were only available in .5 increments so she couldn't get her exact prescription.

A friend of mine also has a 10% off code for this site which you can find below!

I haven't bought from these guys in a really long time, but they have a larger selection of the more “costume lenses" you might find around the Halloween time.

There are two other big sites for purchasing colored lenses. I haven't actually bought contacts from these guys so I interviewed a few of my friends on them as well as combed their website over for if he useful info to give you!

And that's all the information I have for you!

At least, that I could think of that answered most of the questions I hear.

Thanks for checking out my post! I appreciate you taking the time to read/skim the whole thing to get to this point! I know it's a little long. If you have questions that I didn't answer about colored contacts, or if you want help picking the perfect lens, please let me know and I'll do my best to help! I do really love colored lenses and I love how they can lend themselves to being the perfect addition to a costume or look in general to tie everything together.

As always, Please please PLEASE be safe with contact lenses. Even if you don't have a prescription, consult with an ophthalmologist. You only have one set of eyes and having super cool eye colors is not worth the risk. There are  a number of doctors who are willing to even just talk to you over the phone to see if contacts are something you should do.

I appreciate you all! Thank you! :)
